Cartier Art Deco Coral, Onyx, Seed Pearl and Diamond Pendant, Circa 1921

$ 0.00 USD

This color combination of coral, diamond, pearl and black onyx was favored by Cartier. In 1922, Henri Picq created for Cartier a similar tassel pendant using the same material, only with the addition of a pendant ring on a knotted cord, a design inspired by Chinese amuletic jade discs. This reference is now part of the official Cartier Collection. It is worth noting that this pendant was entered into Cartier stock in 1921 and the block print of the signature CARTIER is evidence of the fact that it was sold out of the New York salon.

  • Sixty-five old mine and circular-cut diamonds weigh approximately 1.60 carats total
  • Twenty-four tassels of seed pearls and black onyx beads
  • Signed Cartier in block print and numbered
  • With French assay mark for platinum
  • Associated neck chain with original barrel-shaped clasp set with twenty-five rose-cut diamonds
  • Tassel length approximately 3 ¾ inches; chain length approximately 21 ½ inches
